Showcases

Safnasafnið launched its Showcase publications in 2016, with the objective of researching its collection and presenting it to a wider public than those who visit the museum’s exhibitions. This primarily reflects the museum’s policy of cataloguing and mediating an undervalued aspect of Icelandic art history, which the museum systematically nurtures. The Showcase books so far published focus on the diverse works of different artists, both known and unknown.
